ChinTalk Terms of Use

Welcome to ChinTalk, a kids' language-learning app for learning Hakha Chin and related languages. By downloading or using ChinTalk, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. If you are a child, please have a parent or guardian read and accept these terms on your behalf.

1. Who may use ChinTalk

ChinTalk is intended for children and families. A parent or guardian is responsible for supervising a child's use of the app, for the account, and for any purchases. By allowing a child to use ChinTalk, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms on the child's behalf.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Please provide accurate information when creating an account, and keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use ChinTalk only for its intended learning purpose. You agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe others' rights while using the app.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems.
• Misuse friend codes, referral links, or parental-linking features.

4. Subscriptions and payments

ChinTalk offers optional premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are subject to those stores' terms. Key points:

• Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• A subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Because parental controls apply to commerce, some purchase-related actions in the app are protected by a parental gate.
• Prices and available plans are shown in the app before you buy. Any free-trial terms are disclosed at the point of purchase.
• ChinTalk never receives or stores your payment-card details.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.

5. Content and intellectual property

The app, its lessons, audio, artwork, and other content are owned by ChinTalk or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use ChinTalk for its intended learning purpose. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the content except as allowed by law.

6. Microphone and pronunciation practice

Some features use your device's microphone so you can practice pronunciation. As described in our Privacy Policy, this audio is processed momentarily on your device or by your device's speech service and is not uploaded or stored by ChinTalk.

7. Disclaimers

ChinTalk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every learning goal.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChinTalk and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Termination

You may stop using ChinTalk and delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting us. We may suspend or end access if these terms are violated or as needed to protect the service and its users.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
